Working as a designer, Justin has specialised in working on social communiations projects. Versed in a wide range of media, from traditional print, identity and promotions, to web, multimedia and digital video, he has interests in social, environmental and cultural issues.

In New Zealand he has worked for a wide range of clients, including local government: Auckland Regional Council, Auckland City, Waitakere City, Auckland Regional Transport Authority; government agencies: Department of Conservation, Alcohol Advisory Council; NGOs: Oxfam, Amnesty International, Greenpeace; health promotion: NZ AIDS Foundation, Mental Health Foundation; arts and culture: Artists Alliance, Creative NZ, The British Council. More recently he worked for one of the UK's largest publicly-funded charities as design and production manager.

He holds a post-graduate degree in design (AUT) as well as a degree in sociology and anthropology (UoA), and is a part-time lecturer in design at AUT University.

 


A trained electronics engineer and photographer, Stuart has been developing websites since 1995. He has worked on a wide range of web-based projects, both as the sole developer and as part of a development team.

Well versed in both commercial and open source web development technologies, Stuart’s experience allows him to determine the best fit for the project. Along with ASP and PHP, various database engines, and leading web servers, he has experience with open source software such as Joomla CMS, virtueMart and osCommerce e-commerce systems, WordPress and Blogger blogging, and SMF Forum. He has also developed a custom-built Content Management System (BioteCMS) allowing Biote to offer clients affordable and effective client-based website maintainence.

He has been active with a number of community groups involved with social justice issues and arts promotion. As an active member of PhotoForum over the last 12 years, he conceived and developed their website – a comprehensive portal site for the NZ photographic community.
